LifeSketch:«tab»Peder Jorgensen Loy was married twice. H e married in 1770 to Anna Clausdatter, becoming engaged 1 J anuary 1770. She died in February 1777 and was buried on 1 4 February 1777. She was 61 years and 1 month of age whe n she died. They did not have any children, but often a woman who had p roperty would marry a hard working man without property bec ause she had no heirs to leave it to. This was a common pr actice in Denmark at this time. The second marriage of Peder Jorgensen Loy was to Margreth e Pedersdatter. The marriage record shows that she lived i n Systofte at the time of the marriage and she is with hi m on both the 1787 and 1801 Danish Censuses. They had a fa mily together. Peder Jorgensen Loy died in Systofte in 1802. His second w ife married Niels Hansen, who was a widower from Norre Orse v, a parish close to where they lived. (Written by Marla M organ Bezold). |
